The June issue of the prestigious magazine IT Channel (No. 128) is now available and brings with it a detailed recap of one of the sector's most significant moments this year: the Channel On 2026.
Focusing on the major challenges and the transformation of the technological ecosystem in Portugal, the editorial coverage gave special prominence to the roundtable "The Future of the Channel: talent, leadership, and business model — How partners reinvent themselves to grow in the new technological cycle", which featured the active participation of our CEO, Nuno Vizela.
On pages 42 and 43 of this month's issue, the debate received an in-depth analysis. Nuno Vizela shared the panel with António Louro (ActiveSys), António Teixeira (Pontual), and Nelson Pereira (Noesis), offering clear perspectives on the three major fronts that are changing the market:
1. The Global War for Talent
Our CEO highlighted how the geographical barrier has disappeared with remote work: "Today, we clearly compete in the global market. A good candidate can work from here for the United States or the United Kingdom. We didn't have that challenge a few years ago.". For IDW, the solution involves building a strong technical community and going beyond just salaries, by continuously investing in people and keeping technical talent close to the business.
2. Artificial Intelligence and Process Efficiency
Nuno Vizela highlighted AI as a fundamental driver of leadership, particularly in internal operational optimization: "There are numerous processes that we can move into an automation phase, both commercially and technically, which allows us to move faster than we used to.".
3. The End of the Hourly Rate and the Reinvention of the Model
Given the impact of AI on service delivery and the traditional time-based billing model, our CEO was categorical about the role of current leaders: "The billable hour is dead. (...) The answer lies in Partners needing to map out in advance which services will disappear and which ones are yet to be created.".
For IDW, seeing these strategic reflections shared in specialized media reinforces our commitment to leading the market with a forward-thinking vision. You can follow and review all content through the following channels:
We thank IT Channel for the excellent organization and the opportunity to contribute to this vital discussion for our ecosystem.
The Channel's future is built on resilience, innovation, and continuous adaptation. We move forward together! 🛡️🤝
