Tasks:
- Proactively maintain and develop the Linux Server infrastructure to guarantee a 24x7x365 uptime service
- Implement best practices for managing systems and services across Linux environments
- Extend and improve the current system monitoring tools
- Logging analysis information and faultfinding for reporting performance exceptions or standard activities
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
- Manage, coordinate and implement software upgrades, patches and hot fixes, on servers
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform required tasks
- Develop automation strategies and deployment processes
- Provide inputs to improve the stability, security, efficiency and scalability of the Linux environment
- Proactively engage and support local sites to deploy company standards of Linux systems globally
- Create proper documentation and keep it up-do-date
Profile:
- 2 years’ experience previously working as a Linux Administrator
- In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix OS (SUSE, RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian, FreeBSD etc.)
- Hands on experience with virtualization (VMWare, Citrix, etc.)
- Experience managing infrastructure trough SUSE Manager
- Experience with log management technologies (ELK, etc.)
- Experience in system monitoring tools (Nagios, Grafana, etc.)
- Databases knowledge and management (SQL, Postgres, etc.)
- Expert in scripting (Shell, Bash, Perl, Python, Powershell, etc.)
- Solid knowledge in network protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
- Familiarity with SAN management and concepts
- ITIL and Cloud concepts
- English proficiency written and spoken
